ABOUT
Hi. I’m Alana, and I am a specialist development sizzle editor with over eight years’ experience crafting high-impact trailers, sales tapes and promos for major UK and international production companies. My recent work includes editing for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and creating an immersive cinema piece for an upcoming exhibition at The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
I specialise in shaping tone, energy and narrative for sizzles and sales trailers, ranging from high-octane entertainment reality formats, to cinematic tension for premium documentaries, to heart-led comedy for scripted works in development.
From 2017-2023, I worked at Gordon Ramsay’s production company, progressing from assistant to Development Producer. During that time, I cut sizzles that secured commissions with Amazon, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, FOX and National Geographic, and worked across multiple award-winning and BAFTA-nominated series. I also directed and co-produced an award-winning short documentary Holly Ramsay: The Talk, on the importance of ‘the talk’ (sex education) in a child’s upbringing which premiered in Los Angeles.
Alongside my sizzle editing work, I am developing a directing portfolio of my own and recently 2nd Unit Directed on York-based Christmas feature film Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint, starring Celia Imrie, John Bradley & Richard E Grant. In 2021, I edited the opening of the Netflix Top 5 UK feature Three Day Millionaire and was selected to join BAFTA x Connect. Prior to this, I worked on various productions including on location in Spain on Channel 4’s A New Life in the Sun, and cut my teeth on the set of Emmerdale, in Leeds, where I grew up.
